‘Don’t Stop Me Now’- Colleen Coleman Review | Reading Challenge 2019

Hello my lovelies! Today I am sharing with you my opinions on the first book I read towards my 2019 Reading Challenge- ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by Colleen Coleman. I am going to try to be as spoiler free as I can so this won’t be too in depth!

Plot

Poppy Bloom- son of an ex rock star and a hairdresser- gets her Psychology PhD from the prestigious Banbridge University. However, when she doesn’t get a fellowship upon graduation, her perfectly mapped-out life takes a different path. She moves back in with her mum and step-dad and feels as though she has hit a real dead end in life. After a chance encounter with an old school friend, could everything be about to change?

Favourite Character?

I have to say that I really like Poppy because I felt as though she took the unexpected in her stride and changed her life for the better with it- despite it not seeming that way to start with. She didn’t allow a set back to impact her too much. I also sympathise with her passion for education and love how she doesn’t falter when that can’t be in her life anymore.

Favourite Part of the Book?

I am struggling to write this section without giving spoilers but I really enjoyed the parts set within the Mini Bus and at the Netball games. I also really liked the part at the gym! (You’ll understand if you read the book!)

Reflection & Final Thoughts

I would recommend this book if you like a chick lit! The content was very typical of the genre but amusing regardless. It was what I deem as a relaxing read and definitely a spirit raiser. An ideal holiday read in my opinion!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and hopefully it has given you inspiration to read more! If so, be sure to read my post on my 2019 reading challenge, which you all can join me in!
